The Artist

They say a picture can speak with the power of more than a thousand words. In that light, Photographic Artist Marc Gagnon has spoken in great volumes with his collection of visual art collages. Each profiled piece in this series encompasses the unlimited diversity and vividness of his multi-cultural talents as seen through its expressive technique and imagery.

Mr. Gagnon’s exhilarating mélange of art-work crosses a broad spectrum of various cultures with a constantly changing concept that touches the heart and soul of millions.

Gagnon’s impressive dossiers of photos have been accepted into and adorn 91 different collections around the world. His astounding accomplishments can be seen at the Smithsonian, the White House, the Vatican, the National Library of Spain, the National Museum of Photography at the Royal Library of Denmark, the Boston Public Library; the list goes on and on. His artwork also graces the walls of the Presidential Libraries of Ronald Reagan, Gerald R. Ford, Lyndon B Johnson and the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Various pieces of his art have been enthusiastically acclaimed by the likes of the renowned Pope John Paul II, President Jimmy Carter, Steve Forbes, Donald Trump, Jack Welch, King Juan Carlos of Spain and Harold Koda, Curator for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, just to name a few.

But this is just the beginning for this extraordinary man. Future goals are to continue to reach abroad and span the oceans and the seven continents of the world. Gagnon has his sights set on The Palais du Lourve in Paris, The Hermitage in Russia, The Nelson Mandela Library in South Africa, The National Gandhi Museum in India as well as many domestic institutions and foundations here in the United States.

Gagnon’s wizardry mixes visual images with current events that eventually flower into a cohesive creation and composition of artistic photos called a collage. These collages speak boldly while touching the very essence of what they truly represent. We become captivated with his series of illustrations that bring these collages to life. Each collage reflects a different story of how Gagnon expresses his ideals of peace, unity and cultural diversity through his artwork. This coffee table book personifies and embodies the many subjects of his material.

Gagnon continues to touch the lives of all people around the world, many times to heal wounds, to inspire others with his artwork, and to bridge cultures together through his art. Always surrounded by brilliant thinkers to enrich the conscious mind, Gagnon is known to many people and institutions around the globe. Such people are Prince Michael of Kent, Prime Minister Tony Blair, President Jacques Chirac, the International Museum of Peace & Solidarity in Uzbekistan, the Roman Catholic Church, the State of Israel, all living American Presidents and Governors and Industrialists. He also spans across the field of entertainment. From professional athletes to musicians and producers, Gagnon’s work never lacks notability.

Gagnon's goal is to reach other museums across our oceans, such as The National Gandhi Museum in India, National Library of Jamaica, The Nelson Mandela Library in South Africa, The Peace Museum in Germany, the Louvre in Paris, the Hermitage in Russia, Musee D' Orsay in France, as well as additional museums in the United States as the Civil and Human Rights museums and cultural centers. Of special importance, is the use of visual images involving current events. Gagnon's collages of the 911 Collage, the Lady Liberty as Defender collage and the Face of Humanity are perfect illustrations of this. Gagnon has made proposals to house these pieces in the Pentagon, the United Nations Building and the World Trade Center Memorial.

Finally, Gagnon's main goal is to build an International Multi-Cultural Center to house the arts of the world. The museum will have a unique design comprised of four domes that are connected by enclosed corridors. There will be a center dome which will comprise of exhibiting area, educational classrooms, labs, as well as a media center and conference area. A Foundation has been created in the State of Florida for the purpose of creating the center and will be to educate and celebrate all the richness of cultures and the diversity that this Earth is made up of. After all, the United States is a perfect place to house such an institution as the USA embodies the philosophy of what the Center will become.
